Contractually, scholarships are renewed on a year by year basis whereas a coach is more restricted given that they are usually somewhere on the spectrum of a multi year contract.

coach[es] are usually somewhere on the spectrum. Truer words were never spoken.

Not meaning to hijack the thread away from the original intent of watching any potential MBB changes, but portal availability and knowing how to use it to your advantage, probably got us a SoCon football championship this past season.
Survival of the fittest usually includes those with the greatest ability to adapt to changes.
It's looking like we have a couple of coaches that are adapting.

It's also easier to work the portal when you are winning as opposed to losing. Football is coming off a 11-2 record and basketball has won 20 the last two seasons. Kids want to play, but they also want to win.

I'd put getting a DC that didn't call plays like he was playing a video game up there too lol.

Isn't it great that so many life lessons can be learned from the game of football? One of those most important lessons is that when life deals you a bad break setback, you don't stop your life but get yourself up, dust yourself off and carry on. Just like in football when a good team never lets one bad call stop them from playing their best. Ah yes, football and life lessons.

I resisted the urge to point out to him that he is defining his team as “quitters” each time he blames the L on a single call at the beginning of the 2d quarter.
