Sussy Ngulefac, Sanaa Redmond, and Cydney Rivera are all in the transfer portal. linkRivera's playing time diminished as the season progressed, and then she got hurt. If she's gonna keep playing, she will almost have to go D2, as I believe her next school will be her 5th (!). Redmond maybe sees the writing on the wall and thinks Masyn Marchbanks has taken her job, but she has played a lot her first two years (more than she deserved, IMO) and I can't really see why she would be unhappy. I have no idea why Sussy would want to leave. She has been a centerpiece of the offense for two years, and this seems to be the right level for her, competition-wise. I know her sister just signed to play soccer at Kentucky, so maybe she wants to get closer to her. Very disappointing.

No loss. Ngulefac (sp?) was a load to deal with in the low post in the SoCon, but against quality competition, she wasn't much of a threat and she was a turnover machine. Coach needs to hit the recruiting trail and upgrade her expectations. She doesn't need to sign the girls who want to come to Samford who are ok at basketball, she needs to sell Samford to the ladies who are really good at basketball. It takes hard work to be a successful college coach. I fear that the Samford women's program is a place to go to have early success and then cruise and let your program spiral into mediocrity. It happens far too frequently. There is a pattern here. This isn't a loss, however, it is an opportunity to fill three open scholarships with better players. Time to go to work, or it is time to just try to fill the void with any available bodies? No more passes for the WBB coach. Win or get off the pot.

I agree with you to a point. Ngulefac is a pretty one-dimensional offensive player - she scores right at the basket. Nothing outside of about 3 feet from the basket. Not a good passer, and not a particularly good rebounder for her size. I would still rather have her than not, even if just a bench piece.
Redmond and Rivera shouldn't be hard to replace with upgrades really.
