He left out two things. First, the percentage chance that the game will be played. Second, whether coach Bucky and his brand of Bucky Ball will have an impact on the outcome based upon his success at Mountain Brook.

Apparently, they don't teach math at WCU. Article correctly states Hatcher was named HC in 2014, but then says he's in his fourth season. He's actually entering his sixth season.

Picky, picky, picky...... I just cut and pasted the Hatcher stuff from an old preview.... I should have done better proofreading on that part. They do however, expect you to know simple addition and subtraction when you arrive at WCU. How did you like the pregame preview otherwise? I did put in the projection that Samford would win, what else do you want? The original article in in Purple & Gold, check it out..... catamountsportsblog.blogspot.com/2020/07/2020-football-preseason-preview-samford.html

Cats, I have my doubts we will win, Thanks for the vote of confidence. Maybe you'll be right and I'll be wrong.

Lol. It was a good article. I enjoyed it. You are more optimistic about our team than I am, however.
Oladokun is deadly if you let him play his game. Most teams figured out that you keep him on the pocket and make him beat you with his decision making and accuracy. That isn’t his strong suit. Let him scramble and create on his own and he’ll have a highlight reel against you. Maybe with a year under his belt (but no spring football) he will be more comfortable with the offense. Hatcher, however, has a philosophy that we do what we do so we don’t scheme against what the defense does, which is why the offense gets anemic as the season wears on. I hope I’m wrong, but it is what we do over the last four or six seasons, depending on who is counting.

The Cats are only 1-8 in games played in Birmingham, while Coach Speir is 2-6 as a head coach vs. Samford.

Is Will Jones(who threw 41 passes vs Samford in 2018) the expected starter at QB? IMO, Malik Richardson is VERY talented. I have watched some film on him and the guy seems to be big and fast, and can throw with some accuracy, so I'm just curious. Whoever it is, at least, thankfully, Tyrie Adams will not be there!

Will Jones will be there (redshirt junior) but not sure who the starter will be. Richardson as you said it very talented, but without spring season to make a judgment, it will probably be a surprise to us all, who the starter will be. So folks think Richardson may be as good or better than Tyrie. I hope that is the case.

Also, congrats to Western for finally installing a new field turf. Pictures of it show it looks really good. Previously, there was a washed-out looking field that was terrible to watch on streaming.
