The topic was mainly defense, and surprisingly enough Hatcher was all in on singing the praises of that side of the ball. He even said that he thinks the defense will be "something to be reckoned with". He went on to say that the new coaches had gained the players' confidence, and that these coaches were doing a great job. He feels that the improvement from the ETSU game to the Mercer game was obvious. He also said that the linebackers unit is deep(it is).
On offense he said that one day he expects to see Liam Welch playing on Sundays. Several players were mentioned along with talk of the improved running game.
There is more, and you can watch the video on ESPN+ and it is worth watching.

Nice logo on the shirt. Much improved from the one (rather, lack of one) back on 7/22/2019 that earned a soapbox rant. Glad to see the proud dog over the name of the university.

Everyone has hope during media days. You win or lose on Saturday in September-November.

Great interview. I'm excited for this season. It's not even Kool Aid. What i liked about this spring season was that we improved as the year went on. I know a lot of us here are jaded but I think Liam, the offense and am improving defense, that's real and we have a chance to be the toughest team to beat each week.
Unlike others who always think we have the best talent in the league, i haven't always felt that. To me that refrain had been the Kool Aid. Individual players, no doubt, but not top to bottom. I feel we have a well balanced, deep, talented team this fall. That said the league is strong and nothing is easy in the SOCON. We have to go get it, and I think we can. Let's gooooo!
