Benefactor Gary Cooney has evidently provided funds to allow Samford athletes to have technology that gives them a competitive advantage. This is a most interesting video of Project SAMson. Be sure to also read the article. It tells about devices to be worn and used on the court or field and in the weight room, and for different sports. Sounds like groundbreaking stuff to me, although I don't understand it at all. www.samford.edu/news/2021/07/Project-SAMson-Boosts-Athlete-Performance-Experiential-Learning

Looks like a good way to invade the students’ privacy and fleece Samford by selling them a bill of goods. I’ll believe it’s really something when I see the results.

We may be the only university in the SoCon, but notice it did not say we were the only university in the state or region. Back in 2019 I was hearing about something like this as a dream for the WBB staff. In fact I seem to remember it made the Big Give list.
Have no clue if it is the same platform, but back then what WBB was interested in was already being used by much larger schools and professional teams. If this is being provided for all athletes, this is a substantial contribution.
