So what now? I believe that the SoCon Presidents meet tomorrow, but my info was from another message board. If that is the case, how will Samford vote? The only known for sure votes to play football are The Citadel, UTC, Mercer, and VMI. The ADs are to present recommendations, and then the presidents will decide. There are MANY more issues than just a YES or NO vote of course.
If any of y'all know more on this please post.

Even if you have football at this point it is going to feel like an exhibition season. Some schools will play, some won't. Schedules will be all jacked up, revenues will be way down, and schools will only be willing to allow a fraction of fans into the stadium compared to what is normal. And this doesn't even factor in whether there will be a FCS playoff or not. Also, don't be surprised when teams are hit with an outbreak (and this will happen) if those teams cancel their season at the drop of a hat. In other words, you may start prepping to hit the road against a UTC only to find out in the middle of game week that UTC's had a COVID outbreak in the last 24-48 hours and they are postponing their season indefinitely. We've seen MLB teams do this to some degree with the Cardinals and Marlins both having their seasons suspended until things turn around. Certainly if this happens at the professional level it will happen at the college level where there are fewer resources and the participants are younger and generally speaking less responsible than professionals, and in a sport in which there is far greater interpersonal contact.
Given these restrictions and the strong belief that we probably going to be mediocre, if not worse, I'd be strongly in favor of there being not football this year. Just because we might can play doesn't mean we should. And just because we can doesn't mean the season will be enjoyable. I want to enjoy a football season like it used to be as opposed to some bastardized version of it.

And after watching Soroka of the Braves go down for the year (and likely much longer) with an Achilles tear, I'd question whether we want to risk injuries to players for this mess of a season. Start demanding the NCAA give an extra year of eligibility if players want it and work out the scholarship details later.
