The weather is ridiculous. God abandons that area of the country every November. It’s the Russian tundra of North America. They have to play football indoors or everyone would die. It is unnatural.
And speaking of playing indoors, where do you buy tickets? I know, I know, they play in the Fargo dome (filled with a bunch of corn fed people wearing flannel and hoodies an work boots—it is difficult to tell the men from the women after their late 20s/early 30s). Everyone puts on their winter layer of fat and grows a beard and leaves their sod houses and comes to the game. I mean everyone, women too. Picture Steve Buscemi as the homecoming queen.
I saw they have tickets on sale starting today at 3. But where?
Is North Dakota on central time or mountain time or do they have a special time called “remote time” or “place that time forgot” time. It is a time where you go back in time and the world passes by like you are on a different temporal plane.
Third, how do you get to Fargo? I saw that movie. This place is filled with graft and serial killers. Anyway, anyone planning to go? Flights? Can you fly into Fargo from anywhere but Moscow, Russia? Anyone going? Do they have hotels or just hostels and igloos?
I saw on twitter that SDSU fans were having to look and see where Samford was located—implying that Samford was nowheresville. We aren’t in NYC, but it is ironic that SDSU is making fun of Samford not being on the map. You won’t see any SDSU fans watching the conference championship game during our game bc the big University in the state may get in the national championship race if one of the teams in the conference championship game loses. No, sdsu is the big University in the state and this is the national championship race they care about. They brag about their 15,000 seat arena, the biggest in the state, but . . . tell me about nowheresville. Put that in perspective, we are playing their equivalent of Alabama and Auburn and they are making fun of their opponent being obscure. You are only as great as your opponent, so . . . .
There is no question SDSU is a good team with a storied pass. This is a big deal for us. We are playing a giant of the FCS, but they are FCS just like us. Every team we play is basically the same. Points will be scored and it will be a shoot out. But, if we can handle the environment, the noise, the building, the moment, and the trip to Fargo on a short week, we can make history. Hiers or QC, it don’t matter. They are going to score. If we can too, we got a chance.
