I spoke with Rylan Jones coach last season the other day. He was talking about how bad they wanted him to be able to play last season but the concusions just would not allow it to happen. He is just the type of guard a team like us needs. We don't need flashy, we need his steady play

One thing that impressed me last night is that we won despite the fact that WCU controlled tempo. We finished almost 16 points below our average point total and our press really didn't affect them much at all as we were only able to create eight turnovers. Stylistically it is not the type game we prefer, but it is impressive that we were still able to beat a good 15-3 team on the road by basically playing someone else's tempo.

I have to get a confession off my chest. The little point guard for WCU is a punk. Dallas from Florida is going to live in his head tonight. Too bad Marshall isn't playing. Our punk is bigger and tougher than their punk. At least we won't get a technical in the first 10 minutes. So, their punk had a hell of a game. Quick as a cat, the press didn’t bother him at all, and he shot the three like a sniper the whole game. Dude balled out. I think he had 22 points. He’d be the talk of the town but for Samford winning and Achor putting up a 35 burger on them. The WCU all everything player is good. He quietly put up something like 20. His three point shooting was the only hole in his game. I think he was 2-2 on air balls. I think we should sag on him next time. Let him have the three and stop the dribble drive.

Maybe his nickname could be "The Ache-er" for all of the headaches he causes for other teams?

He had a career night against the Cats in Cullowhee, he was unstoppable that night. But - do you really think he can score 35 points again? Just look at his point totals since that game: 20 - Mercer 19 - Furman 3 - ETSU 7 - Wofford 12 - Chattanooga 16 - UNCG 7 - VMI Samford will need another career night out of Achor.

We have a team. Achor doesn’t have to pad his stats to carry the team, he just has to play his role.

If we are looking at point totals since that game at WCU, maybe we should mention Jermaine Marshall. He has since played in 3 games for a total of 29 minutes and scored 33 points. That could be a valuable help for Achor in scoring and rebounding. Should be a great game for sure. BTW, Cats I was wondering why no Cornelious Williams vs Mercer?
