I love listening to Full Ride on XM channel 84. This morning Chris Childers and Rick Neuheisal spent 5+ minutes talking about Samford men’s basketball and CBM. Neuheisal called Frank Bomberg the mascot of Samford basketball and says he doesn’t miss a game at home or on the road. Sure hope our mascot is generous with more than his time! It was great and positive exposure for the university.

I have one of my car Sirius Radio Channels set on that. I'm glad you posted this as I wouldn't have known about it otherwise. I'll also bet that this explains the frequent plane rides instead of bus trips for the team. IMO, however, and this is just a guess, I have to imagine that Mr. Bomberg is much more of a Bucky Fan than a Samford Fan.

Isn’t the store “Bromberg’s”? With an r. The jewelry store in Mtn Brk? B’r’omberg! Bomberg is a Swiss Watch company that I don’t believe is affiliated with Bromberg’s, but I am not connected with any of the the Mtn Brk social circles. Always willing to learn new things about my neighbors to the North.

Wasn't sure myself, but cujo is (R) right. My apologies Mr. Bromberg, what jewelry I have comes from Walmart.

I’ve always said that behind every good writer is a good editor. I also stress proofing your text before submitting. Obviously I failed on the second but thankfully had 2 good editors to point out my obvious error. And, I even know members of the Bromberg family — although I definitely am NOT part of the MB social circles!!

And, I agree about the level of Mr. Bromberg’s support. I don’t think the family had any connection to Samford before Bucky’s arrival.

Although not a direct family connection, Bromberg's has been a corporate sponsor of Samford Athletics at least since the days they advertised Rolex on the Terry Bowden Football Show. Even back in the dark ages when Mrs77 was a student, they employed Samford students in their Mt Brook store. She bought a couple of place settings of her sterling from a Samford student, who included the silver chest as part of a promotion. Mrs77 may not be able to quote stats from games, but do not question her memory of Samford football, MBB, and WBB significant plays and players. Yes, the Bromberg presence in the Pete and even in Asheville has been more apparent since the arrival of our current coach. Since there still has not been an announcement of the transformational gift with the right to name the new student wellness and recreation center, I was wondering if we could have a Bromberg Hall?

Glad someone talks about mid majors and knows basketball. The college gameday guys are clueless. They only watch the blue bloods. They don’t even make informed comments.

Frank Bromberg is Bucky’s godfather. Frank, individually, was a huge contributor from 1987 till 1992. I have a Waterford Crystal Football 🏈 with the Samford logo on it from Brombergs. Marla Corts gave it to me. During football 🏈 season in ‘90 - ‘92 we had a Monday morning routine, Frank and Terry would preview the upcoming opponents game film from 6:00 a.m. till ? while Todd Stroud and I lifted the non - travel/walk ons. When Frank walked through the weight to the coaches locker room and showers that meant their film session was over and time for the full staff mtg. Frank made all our play - off games in ‘91 - ‘92. For those that remember the curb stomping The s.🙌🏻. put on EKU in ‘92 we scored on a throw back flea flicker from Ben Wiggins to Ron Green. Frank got Terry to make Jimbo call that play. Trust me Drew Frank contributes a lot more to that program than just time and money.
