There are three games to pay attention to today:
Samford/ETSU is obvious. We know what it can mean today. Nuff said about that. The real question will be watching Samford’s patchwork line up and substitution pattern. Is Bucky willing to go to his bench and use it with 40% of his starting 5 in street clothes, and the other 60% hobbled?
Wofford/FU—I don’t care what the outcome might mean for us if FU wins, I’m pulling for Wofford. Have I mentioned I loath FU? A Wofford win could create chaos in the seeding.
UNCG/Mercer—03 thinks Mercer is trash, but I beg to differ. They lack consistency, but they are dangerous and capable. UNCG either blows them out or this one goes down to the wire. If memory serves, these teams really do not like each other. The hand of friendship line at the end of the game almost turned into a throwing hands fest. I’d love to see this one result in multiple ejections. This is the type of game that could also lead to, heaven forbid, season ending injuries for both teams. Put on your big boy pants, this one could be WWF style entertaining.

But what is the deal Samford is promoting about breaking the attendance record? It ain't gonna happen, period. I think it is counter productive to push this. I mean I was one of 5,116 at the Davidson Game and plan to be there today, but will I see 5,115 besides me?

It is a beautiful spring-like day, outdoor and indoor sports are in full swing. It is going to be tough to see a bunch of people getting over to watch an indoor basketball game on a day like this at this time of year. There is every reason to do something else this weekend.

Furman’s announcers are simply intolerable regardless of who they are playing. I had to laugh at them saying that Blake was biased. Perhaps the most professional voice in the SoCon and they go on a rant about it on social media demanding objectivity (to them, it means recognizing FU’s unmatched greatness—delusional). Many of them going straight at Blake, some of them parents of players who simply lost their $h!+ during and after the loss.
Pegues missing threes all over the court today. Which reminds me, the fact that he scores something like 27 of their last 28 points and made one from half court probably helped us pull out the victory. He was going to let any of the scrubs take a shot and he had the misplaced confidence that anything he put up was going in. He was wrong.

Ok. . . . I assumed when I should have done something else. Cit takes down UTC. One step closer.

Posted on the game thread. Nice crowd but east end looks mostly empty. They do have the upper bleachers pulled out. I predict an announced crowd of 3,000+.

Mercer is beating UNCG at their own game. We do NOT want Mercer to get the 7 seed. Mercer has to be in my top 4 teams with a chance to win it all in Asheville.

We're #1 outright. Mercer over G 86-72.

Mercer just manhandled UNCG. Mercer is as hot as any team in the conference. They have defeated UNCG twice, Samford and Furman. That’s .500 against the top 4 teams currently. Of course, 3 of 4 of those wins were at Macon and all but two of their conference wins were at home. Fortunately, the conference tournament isn’t held in Macon.
