And it was written by the ancients that when Samford wins the SoCon tournament, 77 and Mrs. 77 will conceive a child and his name shall be called Buckey Achor., or 154. The party is getting started in Asheville! Considering she is cooking at her last church youth group spring camp at PCB, this could get real interesting.

Smurf. The dawg! I remember watching the Samford/Ga. at semi final at a sports bar with Mr. C and Mrs. Cujo and Smurf was in the booth next to us. The first NCAA tournament game, I was in New Orleans laying the plans for my financial empire. The second year Mr. C and his side kick, The Accountant, and I flew up to Cleveland to watch us lose a close one to . . . to some big team. I remember the game before ours well. St. Joe’s took Kentucky to overtime. What I remember about our first game was our favorite PBP guy, Boyd Kaiser, shooting an air ball in his first free throw attempt.

We finally made it back. I was unable to make it to the TAAC finals when we won it back to back so it was special to be on the floor after this one. Fun times indeed.

ESPN's updated bracket prediction has us as a 13 seed, paying Auburn in Salt Lake City.

Awards Achor first team Campbell first team Nathan Johnson highest GPA in The tournament Archor MVP player of the tournament Highest GPA in the tournament! Dog! Put him on the coaching staff if he doesn’t go pro in medicine. Achor tournament MVP was a no brainer. Campbell was deserving also. Marshall got left out? He won that in the American East tournament also. He’s a smart kid for sure. Masters degree in four and a half years

Hate to be nit picky, but Mrs77 would be dictating the details if she was here. In the 2000 tournament game before ours, St Bonaventure took Kentucky to OT, before losing 85-80 in 2OT. Our game was against Syracuse and the final score was 79-65. It's always been easy for me to remember that it was the Bonnie's playing the Wildcats, because Marla Corts is a St Bonnie alumna. www.sports-reference.com/cbb/boxscores/2000-03-16-kentucky.htmlThe Dogs played St John's in the Orena in March 1999 and lost 69-43. We then played St John's in the fall of 1999 and beat them 68-60 in the CoSIDA Classic, played in The Pit at Albuquerque, NM www.sports-reference.com/cbb/boxscores/1999-03-11-samford.htmlwww.southcoasttoday.com/story/sports/1999/11/20/samford-rolls-past-st-john/50495775007/
