As we get are the end of this season, I wonder about next year without Liam. I know that most of our games have been too close to sub QBs, but not all have been. There are 10 QBs on the roster including Welch. Some are 247 stared players, all-state, and highly touted. OK, here are my questions:
What QBs other than Liam has thrown a pass this season?
How many passes have other QBs thrown?
How much yardage was gained?
I will answer these questions in my reply.

Ty Hatcher is the ONLY other QB that has thrown a pass this season.
Hatcher threw 2 passes.
Yardage gained was 0. One pass was for 1 yard, and the other gained -1 yard.
I'm just wondering how the next season will be with a QB that has no PT experience. That is one area(QB Coaching) that I think Coach Hatcher is really good in. I can't believe however, that some PT this year wouldn't have been beneficial.

Dog, you could also have pointed out that those highly touted QBs are NOT true Fr. Most of them have ridden the bench for 2-3 seasons, without seeing any game action. Is this ridiculous or what?

Cade Blackmon got the first back up snap in the UTC game. He handed the ball off and then was replaced by Ty Hatcher, who handed the ball off and gave way to the number 4 qb, who handed the ball off and the clock expired. The only other game to see a back up qb get a snap was the one where Ty got a handful of snaps.
I'm presuming that Cade Blackmon is the current number two, but hard to tell. A lot of freshmen qbs on the roster. I assume we'll hit the transfer portal in the offseason.

Seeing as 6 of our 8 games have been decided by one possession, not sure there really has been much opportunity to get meaningful experience. Last thing I want to do is potentially waste a possesion.

I did say that most of our games have been too close to sub, however, the TENN Tech and UTC games were 2 exceptions that could have been used to at least give another QB some feeling of worth.

When Devlin was the qb, if we were up by 35 Dev was still in the game slinging it around like we were down by 10. Hatcher will play his starter 99% of the season. It is just his way. Granted, then it will take a season for the back up to get up to speed when he's the starter the next year, but what's another season of mediocre football when you have season after season of futility under Chris Hatcher? It is a small price to pay for mediocre to bad football.
p.s. It is an affront to Bobby Bowden and the 1984 football team, not to mention John Lee Armstrong and Buddy Anderson, that Chris Hatcher still roams the sidelines of Bobby Bowden field at its head coach.

Does it not bother anybody else that the Samford head coach's son is one of Samford's QB?
10 QB's on the roster but apparently they are still looking for the next QB. My son's friend is a senior QB in high school (2 star) and Samford is recruiting him.

There are a lot of things to be disappointed at or angry about but his son on the team he coaches at the position he played and knows the most about is fine. Terry Bowden played at WVU as a fullback. Guess who the head coach was. You only get one guess on this one.

His son as the #2 bothers me. He does a nice job holding for kicks, but a 5’8” qb at this level requires an exceptional ability that I haven’t seen. My mind is open for change, but it says something about Hatcher’s recruiting if the other 8 are looking up at Tiger Hatcher.
