There is a lot of discussion on other board about about expansion. The ASUN is in a big push to add members, some say that Chattanooga wants to depart and join a conference with North Alabama, JSU & KSU.
What do you think about the SoCon expanding? and if so, WHO?

Right now is a tough time to consider answering this question. IMO, and there are many who will not agree, I would have liked to have seen UNCG replaced with UNA. I have several reasons why I liked the idea, but will just leave it at this for now.

I am sure this is an "every thing on the table" moment for small schools as it relates to athletics. Personally, I would hate to see UTC leave. It would put us 4 hours away from our nearest conference opponent, which makes it tougher from a budget and a competitiveness standpoint. Personally, I would like to see VMI be replaced. They are really outside of the geographic footprint of the league, and bring very little in regards to competitiveness. In terms of replacement, I'd give Campbell a hard look.

At some point in time, Campbell would probably be a good fit for the SoCon, but not as a replacement for VMI. Don't forget the public/private ratio, and that would upset the balance. I could see Campbell coming in to replace a private school. Personally, I'd like to see KSU and JSU added, but to get that approved, we'd have to add two private schools as well. Maybe we could bring in Campbell & JSU as a couple?

Adding JSU and Campbell would be a good move not just for the conference, but for SU specifically.

I would be in favor of adding those two, and I think both schools would probably jump at the chance.

But I thought JSU had aspirations of moving up to FBS?

But I thought JSU had aspirations of moving up to FBS? Like Lee Corso likes to say “Not so fast, my friend.” Their are two camps of thought among Jax State faithful on this subject. For several reasons I don’t think “the move” will ever happen. FCS is and continues to be a good fit for athletics. Now, that being said, I would look at the possibility of changing FCS conferences and investigate it further. Just my 2 cents. FC

With the MEAC falling apart this week, we might see lots more confernce shake-ups. Looks like Big South football and the ASUN are both going to get well with teams from the MEAC.
I've also heard rumors of Tenn Tech moving from the OVC, any legs on that one?

With some of these group of 5 teams standing to lose as much as 5m in guarantees from games this fall, probably about to be some real interested parties.
