No p5, full of donkey d3, NAIA and bad HBCUs. Can't wait for the record start to non conference stories start.

This is a shameless effort to pad the win/loss record.

I know the coach tried to schedule some power 5 teams. However, when you beat Ole Miss and a few others last year, nobody wanted to play us. That is directly from the coach. So it's not really about padding a schedule. It's about not being able to schedule some of them.

What was our NET at the end of last season? The schedule is only terrible if our NET is way higher than all/most of the competition.

Why do we have anonymous posters come out of the woodwork during basketball season?
How do the Belmonts, Furmans, UNCGs, Woffords, and Davidsons of the world schedule games in the pre-conference? Is Samford so feared nationally that no P5 school will play us?
We had a decent run in conference play last year, but quacking in their boots isn’t going to cut it with me as an excuse for this schedule. This appears to be an intentional schedule. Prove my opinion wrong.

I don't think this is any different than in the past. We always have a crappy non conference home schedule. I remember when Newton first came he was going to bring Kentucky in to play. We know how that turned out. To me this is just same old same old.

So it's not really about padding a schedule. It's about not being able to schedule some of them. Just FYI, the last time we won 20 games, had almost our entire roster coming back the next season. We had games against Arkansas, Memphis, Clemson, and LSU that next season. And listen, I don't blame the guy, pad the record and try to get out. But let's just call it what it is. I mean UTC went 27-8, won the league and has Ole Miss and UGA on the schedule. I just can't believe there are alot of p5 teams out there scared of the 3rd place Socon team. The danger is this, we kind of inadvertently did this last season (no one could have predicted how bad our p5 teams were going to end up being). We thought we could beat teams playing full court because of the "success" we had in non-conference. Ran into some real teams, and started league play 1-5 and then slowed things down. If it wasn't for that false sense of what we had and Cardet leaving the team at the end of the season, we very well could have won the league.

Regarding why during basketball season random people come on.
The reason I am on here for basketball is my relative will be playing his first season with Samford Basketball season. I really don't know much about the football team. I will be down Thanksgiving weekend to watch a game, then go to Auburn vs Bama football game. I am also going to the Depaul game. So that is why I came out of the woodwork. haha
