Prep Redzone calls him "one of the most underrated QBs in the State of Florida". Two days ago, Haden Klees, 2024 grad said he will be a Bulldog and his commitment seems to be very solid. While it is true that he isn't a 247 starred player, I think we are getting a true star of the future. A quick release, a strong arm that can throw the deep ball, and he fires Hiers-like bullets on short or over the middle routes. What probably impresses me the most, however, is his accuracy on the run. All-Stater Klees has been a starter since his FR. Year. The past 2 seasons he has thrown for an incredible 4,275 yards. His HS Coach says he is the best QB in Florida. That comment probably should have an asterisk, however, because his coach is also his dad. LOL. www.hudl.com/profile/15247948/Haden-Klees

The past 2 seasons he has thrown for an incredible 4,275 yards. Are we also signing the receivers that caught those passes for 4,275 yards? Understand I am not disparaging the talents of this possible Bulldog, just climbing on my soapbox. To me there's always been a problem with QBs, receivers, and yes even coaches, in their highlight reels. You may be able to throw deep bullets but unless there's a receiver that can cradle it in his arms/hands, there's no reception and no completed passes. Same with a receiver, he may be able to catch anything thrown in his direction, but can the QB get it to him on a routine basis? Then there's the problem with coaches who claim they have such a winning percentage, but the majority of the time, he is not the only one responsible for what happens for 60 minutes. What about his coaching staff? Maybe there's a guy that really knows how to spot talent and gets lucky connecting with a recruit to get him on campus. Maybe an assistant is invaluable in the way he teaches special teams, blocking, tackling, whatever. How many times have coaches been hired because of their current winning record, but in the new position the results are not the same? Probably because not all of the staff moved with him and maybe he can't recruit the same talent level. There's all sorts of variables that have changed to prevent a replication of previous success. In a few instances, the winning continues, but there's only so many Summitt's, Rockne's, and Wooden's in the sports world. Falling off soapbox.

Maybe not in some areas but with QBs and WRs, I would say that our staff has been top-notch for several years in the ones signed. The things you stated are certainly true, but what other than stats, sometimes stars and HUDL do we as fans have to evaluate and maybe get excited about?

Huntsville huh? Wonder if 77 was responsible for this? A 6-9 F rated as one of top 5 players in this state. Troy, JSU, Marshall, and Dartmouth among many offers.

We can claim no credit. He does have a teammate whose sister is on the SU WBB team. However, Mrs77 just provided this reminder: HHS Head Boys Basketball Coach highlights (https://www.schools.huntsvillecityschools.org/huntsville-high-school/christian-schweers) Education

Pretty soon, the SEC schools are going to start reposting our HS baseball recruits captioned with, "Hot New prospect out of Samford...should be arriving on campus in a couple of years."

WRT to the baseball recruit out of the Bolles School, can't help but wonder if there's any influence from a former baseball player, maybe named Verlander?
