Former WBB: Sussy Ngulefac and the Rice Owls won the AAC tourney. She was inserted into the starting lineup before the tournament and had a solid 4 games, averaged 12 points and 8 rebounds and named to all-tournament team.
Mallory Hampton has averaged 19 PPG and leads the team in assists and steals at DII Lee University. They lost in the Gulf South tournament championship but received an at-large bid to the national tournament. They play Nova Southeastern in the opening round today.
Macey Lee is also in the Gulf South, at Union, where her sister also plays. She has averaged 12 points per game and Union sports a 29-3 record. They lost to Lee in the GSC tournament semis, but also received an NCAA at-large bid, and play Eckerd today in the first round.
Kaylee Sticker (never actually played at Samford, but was a highly anticipated transfer from Clemson): averaged 17 minutes per game mostly off the bench at DII North Georgia., who finished 17-12. Shot 33% from the field and 22% from 3, 5.5 points per game.
Sanaa Redmond started 30 games for 10-21 Rider. Still basically the same player she was here at Samford. Shot 35% from the field and 19% from 3, with about the same # of TO and assists.
Audra Leipold has mostly come off the bench in her two years at DII Tampa. Started 2 games this season and 3 last. Scored 53 points this year as Tampa is 28-6. They lost the Sunshine State Conference tourney championship but received an at-large bid and play Embry-Riddle in the first round today.
Nicole Azar left Samford mid-season last year. She played in 19 games, starting 7, at Western Carolina who finished 6-24. Azar shot 28% from the floor and 21% from 3, averaging 3.7 points.
Jaden Langford was, I believe, one of Mike Morris' final recruits at Samford. She played very sparingly here during her two seasons. She went to DII West Florida and carved out a nice career there. Started 50 games over two seasons, shooting 47% and averaging 7 PPG last year and shooting 53% and averaging 6 PPG this year. West Florida was 22-7 last season and 16-13 this year.
