The play by play guy for basketball, who also is clueless about football, demonstrates his total ignorance of basketball in the opening game tonight. He ended it with a clueless call on a Scots’ turnover “that will be a travel on [the Scots player].” Unable to contain myself I said “that would be a moving pick, dumb@$$”. Referee calls a moving pick on the Scots. Mrs. Cujo chuckles. Samford sports plays on.

Maybe Samford games are broadcast on the OUIJA radio network?

It was not the best college basketball game played tonight. In fact, there was some really ugly basketball played in the Hanna Center tonight, but two little boys attending their first Samford basketball game thoroughly enjoyed it. Mrs77 had coached them on the finer points of dribble, pass, and shoot. The 2-year-old has now changed his arms up in the air from the signal for a TD to the signal of a 3. Since it was a school night, we only made it until half time, but I think they will try it again on Thursday night.
The real question is did all those 18-20 year olds enjoy the game tonight enough to come back on Thursday night. I sat there and was amazed by the sound a good group of raucous students can add to a basketball game. Reminds me of the games when sudog03 was on the front row of the bleachers in Seibert Gym.

LOL. Those were the days, 77.
In terms of the game, way too many easy baskets allowed. They broke our press down fairly easily. Allowing a d3 to shoot 50% from the field isn't encouraging. On the bright side, Kaifes can really shoot it, and the ball movement at times was fantastic. Rebounding was the difference. Good effort.

It was a sloppy game at times (first half especially). I think Bucky's halftime assessment was accurate. The guys were anxious. Guys just wanting to shoot it. Also you can see that these guys are still learning reach other. We missed having Logan and McRae not because we needed them against this team but mainly for leadership and calming 'the kids' down. Logan especially. You could tell that Bucky wasn't too pleased with the performance although he maintained a decent poker face in the post game. Cardet showed flashes of his ability. Several of the transfers already looking like winners (ques, Campbell, Marshall, kaifes). This team will be interesting to watch as it develops. But def needs to develop a little more if you know what I mean

You can we that Bucky want too pleased with the performance although he maintained a decent poker face in the past game. Well, he apparently has a lot of experience with that.

I know hating on FB and bb coaches is a popular pastime on here and well earned over time but the new coach is still new and I'm inclined to give him a chance to develop his team and himself for that matter.
