At the PHC today 2:00 PM. Lots of questions, even though this is an exhibition. Will we see the full team or the skeleton crew that went to Iowa? How will some of the newbies from the recent signing class look, and will any have an immediate impact?
The game is on ESPN+.

After the first quarter, I think we have a chance to stay with Montevallo.

They woke up in the second half, but that wasn’t necessarily pretty. They looked out of sorts and not very much like a cohesive team. Coach will coach them up.

IF this team plays JSU Wednesday Night, the Gamecocks will win in a bigtime blowout. Hopefully Coach hinted that we get missing players back. JSU will be hard to beat anyhow, as our team will not have played together, and cohesion could be a big issue. If this was at midseason, I would say that we win handily, but for now we will see.

Is Natalie going to be back for the JSU game? Noticed that we added some big girls to the roster. Post game comments by coach were that we will be seeing more players for depth. Hopefully that means ALL will return, but I dunno. As for adding "big" girls, I'm afraid that NONE will be of help this season, except for practice. Here is a summary of those additions: Emily Bowman - Bowman is the 6'5" transfer from Vanderbilt. Thanks to Lurker who posted the info on here, we now know that her xfer papers were too late for her to be eligible this season. This could possibly help her future play, however. Bowman is a thin 6-5 who could work hard, muscle up and be a real force in the SoCon. We will have to wait and see. Sussy Ngulefac - A 6' 3" true Fr. with the body of a powerful post player. In seeing her play, however, she will have to adjust to the D-1 college game. IMO, she is a project with a great deal of potential for a bright future. This season, however, my guess is that she will have a very limited role in the post. Olivia Ramil - Annie's older sister who is a 6'2" grad transfer from Saint Josephs University with just one year of eligibility. She has a massive body, but her lack of mobility won't allow her to see much PT. There is also newbie Carly Heidger who is listed as a 6-3 guard. That is a tall guard for sure, but I would be very surprised if she is used inside. One bright spot is Fr. Kiersten Nelson who returns from last season. Kiersten is only 6-1, but has good body mass, improving footwork, and this former McDonald's All-American nominee, is my guess to be Natalie's primary backup. She looked good yesterday and scored 9 points including a nice 3 pointer. Disclaimer: There is much speculation in this post. I know no more than anyone else on here, and actually less than several.
