Inside info tells me that it will be the West Georgia Wolves on August 31, 2024. There is no official word from either school at this time that I am aware of. That means that things may not be completely worked out yet, but I think this is correct and will probably be played in Carrollton. This will be UWG's first season in D-1 and they will have a full slate of games in the United Athletic Conference.
Another 2024 OOC game will be with the Central Arkansas Bears. That game will be a home game for Samford and will probably be played near the end of the 2024 season.

Hear me out. The SoCon adds West GA and North Alabama, goes to an 11 team football, 12 team basketball conference. Travel for Samford is easy. North Alabama will eventually follow Troy and JSU to FBS and leave us with 10 football playing schools.
The conference plays 10 conference football games, which means you only need to schedule up to 2 non-conference games.

I live in Orlando. May have to go to that one. We're already planning to leave the game when the Gators are up by more than 35 points and head down to Lake Buena Vista. We'll see you there.

West Georgia adds five games to future football schedules By Kevin Kelley - December 27, 2023The West Georgia Wolves have added five non-conference games to their future football schedules, FBSchedules.com has learned. Copies of contracts for each game were obtained from the University of West Georgia via a state open records request. West Georgia, currently a Division II school, is moving up to the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) in 2024 and will compete in the United Athletic Conference (UAC). The five games that West Georgia has added are against three different opponents. Two of the opponents are within the FCS, while one is a member of Division II. Below are details on all five games added by West Georgia: Samford Bulldogs West Georgia and Samford, a member of the Southern Conference (SoCon) in the FCS, will begin a home-and-home series at University Stadium in Carrollton, Ga., on Aug. 31, 2024. The series will conclude the following season at Seibert Stadium in Homewood, Ala., on Aug. 28, 2025.
