ESPN has us favored by 7 points with the o/u nearly 50 points less than the total of our first meeting with the Citadel. One other thing to note… the Dogs will be without a starter. Don’t wanna reveal too much but I reckon it could be a bigger loss than it is. I’m hearing he’s off the team completely

Based on the cryptic message, that would have been my guess. Someone who only recently was starting and hasn't been consistent offensively. I thought he defended well.

Should mean more Rilley and Matrai (so) which IMO is a good thing.

If true, it is not surprising.  Obviously I don't know the backstory, but the fact is schools like us, for various reasons, have a difficult time of hanging on to highly recruited kids like this. He didn't seem to be a key player for us this year, but I was hoping to watch him evolve into a player who could make a huge impact in the next couple of years.  I guess that won't happen.  With Campbell probably stepping into a starting role, we won't lose much with Cardet's absence, but it certainly thins our bench.

Not trying to split hairs here, but he leads our team with 27 starts. And 3rd in minutes played per conference game. A talented player. Never really looked to me that he was bought all the way into being a Bulldog.   Losing the most talented recruit in school history is not something I would phrase as "a good thing", IMO.

27 starts. Perhaps, especially with injuries early on he played more than he would have as a true F. I never saw him as key to our success. If he had hung I think he could have developed but as a true Freshman I never saw anything that will make cry for not having it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not glad he's gone, but this place isn't for everyone and so it is, what it is. Now if you told me it was Dye or Glover that was off the team then I'd need therapy.
